Identifying common causes of missing Marks book data
Below are some of the most common causes for missing Marks books and missing marks book data.
The results were not saved or have been deleted: Please report to the SEQTA Service desk via email with details for further investigation.
A different programme has been shared to the class and the original unattached: Please report to the SEQTA Service desk with details for confirmation and resolution.
The class was removed from the bridge: The class was bridged, then later unbridged, which will leave the Programme/Marks book with the class that was not removed from the bridge. Should this be the case, bridge the class again to restore the Marks book (as a temporary solution) and email the SEQTA Service desk with the required information (see below)
The Programme was unshared from the class: The Programme/Marks book were unshared from the class. Click here for steps to find and share the programme back to the class. Alternatively, email the SEQTA Service desk with the required information (see below)
There are two or more programmes attached to the class: To check this, go to the teacher's timetable, select Traditional. If the class shows twice, check in the Marks book for both. If one has the results and the other does not, simply unattach the programme with the blank Marks book. For detailed steps and more detailed information please refer to the article, Classes displaying twice on timetable
The class code has been changed in the Timetable system (which makes a new class): To check if this is the issue, go to the affected teacher's timetable, set the date back to the previous week (or a date prior to when the issue first became apparent). If the programme appears, this generally indicates a class code change. Where this is the case, please email the SEQTA Service desk with the required information as the issue cannot be resolved through the interface.
Course type assigned to the programme is changed: If the course type is changed and the course type does not support the mode (scored=numbers, graded=letters) the marks will no longer show. See: Results Missing After Course Type Change.
The assessment marking type has been changed from Marks to Grades or vice versa. To access results entered against the previous marking type, temporarily toggle this assessment setting back via the Overview of assessments sub-page. Note also that the Max (out of) value against the Marks setting will affect the Grades setting if it had previously been set to zero. Verify this by temporarily toggling the marking type back to Marks and if necessary re-applying the default Max (out of) value of 10.
The assessment feedback based on setting has been switched between 'Individual criteria' and 'Whole assessment'. Feedback entered prior to this setting being switched will become hidden. To recover the previously entered feedback, temporarily switch the setting back and refresh the marks book. The feedback can be exported to csv for transcribing against the new setting.
The course type itself has been changed by the school's SEQTA Administrator: The consequences of Course type changes are extensive and difficult to unravel. The SEQTA Service desk will be able to confirm whether course type changes occurred, or preferably preemtively offer advice to minimise impact on teachers.
