Results Missing After Course Type, Rubric or Assessment Changed From Graded to Scored

Assessment results are stored in two different places in the database, one for grades (alpha) and another for scores (numeric).

If results are entered, then the Marking type is changed, then the results will no longer display - because the system is looking for the results in the wrong column. To make the result visible again change the component back to what is was previously.

Method for Changing Marking Type

If the Marking type needs to be changed the results will need to be saved to a spreadsheet, then after the Marking type is changed, re-entered into the Marks book.

  1. Open the Marks book.
  2. Click All Classes at the top of the page, then select the 'All' button in the drop-down menu.
  3. Select To Excel > Full Marks Book.
    • NOTE - the purple reporting columns will display as seen in the Marks book. If reporting results need to be exported, ensure the Timetable period, Report type and Report template are selected appropriately to display reporting results.
  4. Click on the pop-up "Click here to access your document." to save the spreadsheet.
  5. Change the Course type, or assessment 'Marking Type' to the correct one.
  6. Re-enter the results in the Marks book.

The re-entering of results is manual process. However, if there are dozens of assessments the Custom text column (alpha-numeric) can be enabled to temporarily store the results, allowing the use of the 'Copy/Paste' buttons at the top of each column. The Custom text column can be enabled in the Marks book settings window. It then needs to be enabled on a per-assessment basis.
