SEQTA notifications can be set to pop-up in a browser notification when accessing SEQTA online using web-browsers. These pop-ups can be disabled through the settings in the browser (see below for steps).
The SEQTA Learn and SEQTA Engage Apps can be set to send a push notification, to display the notification on the screen of the device. The location of the application notification settings may differ depending on the device.
Disabling browser popups and the SEQTA App push notifications will not prevent notifications from being received through SEQTA.
Enabling or Disabling Pop-Up Notifications in a Browser for SEQTA
The location of the setting for enabling or disabling pop-up notifications will differ depending on which OS and browser version is being used. The below steps should work in most cases. However, if unsure please follow-up with the School's IT Department as they will be familiar with the settings for your browser.
Block or Allow Notifications in Firefox
- Open SEQTA Teach.
- Right-click somewhere in a blank spot of the site and select 'View Page Info' from the menu.
- In the pop-up window, go to the 'Permissions' tab.
- Scroll down until you see 'Send Notifications' and select 'Block' or 'Allow'.
- Close the page into dialogue box by clicking the "X" in the top-right corner.
Allow Notifications in Chrome
- Open SEQTA Teach.
- In the top-right corner of the browser, click the 'Menu' icon and 'Settings'.
- At the bottom, click 'Advanced'.
- Under "Privacy and security," click 'Content Settings'.
- Click 'Notifications'.
- Find your instance of SEQTA Teach and choose to block or allow notifications.
Allow Notifications in Edge
- Open SEQTA Teach.
- In the top-right corner of the browser, click the 'Menu' icon and 'Settings'.
- At the bottom, click 'View Advanced Settings'.
- Under "Website Permissions" click 'Manage'.
- Click 'Notifications' for your instance of SEQTA Teach.
- Toggle notifications 'On'.
Allow Notifications in Safari
- Open the Safari menu and choose 'Preferences' or press 'Command-Comma'.
- Click on the 'Websites' tab.
- Click 'Notifications'.
- From there you can manually allow/deny notifications for your instance of SEQTA Teach.
Allow Notifications in Safari 12
- Select Safari > Preferences, then select 'On Websites' at the top of the window
- Select 'Pop-Up Windows' from the left hand side
- Under 'Allow Pop-Up Windows On The Websites Below' find the entry for 'SEQTA Teach' and to the right of it select 'Block and Notify'.
- Click 'Save'.
