This article contains the following FAQs:
- Why does the Sync profile display as ended or disabled?
- Can I run a sync profile once the timetable period assigned to it has expired?
- Will running a sync on demand enable the Sync profile?
- Can the timetable be synced without it being visible to students in SEQTA Learn and parents in SEQTA Engage?
Why does the Sync profile display as ended or disabled?
See the article Sync Profiles Flagged as Ended or Disabled for steps to resolve these Sync profile displays.
Can I run a sync profile once the timetable period assigned to it has expired?
No, there needs to be a current Timetable period assigned. The enabled option does not need to be selected as this is used only to enable the auto sync.
The reason a sync profile expires is to decrease the chance of students being rolled into the new school year while the school is still doing reporting. This way, the SEQTA Administrator must make a conscious choice to re-enable the sync (ie: after the academic reporting and archiving process has been completed).
Will running a sync on demand enable the Sync profile?
No, the 'Enabled' option needs to be selected and the save button clicked.
Can the timetable be synced without it being visible to students in SEQTA Learn and parents in SEQTA Engage?
Yes, there are two methods. Both methods can be used at the same time.
Method 1: Go to the Administration Workspace > Timetable Management > Cycle/Period Setup. Select the timetable then untick 'Visible to Students' and 'Visible to Parents' and click Save.
Method 2: Go to Administration Workspace > Timetable Management > Manage sync. Select the sync profile then untick Synchronise student class enrolments and click Save.
Note: Method 2 should be used if the students enrolments are not close to being finalised as some of the SEQTA reports pick up enrolments outside of the timetable period. As such it's best to sync them only once they are correct. Method 2 also prevents students from being able to see what roll group students have been assigned to in cases where the school has Student-to-Student Direqt messaging enabled in SEQTA Learn. (This is controlled in Application settings > SEQTA Learn > Messaging recipients).
