Direqt messaging allows the sending of messages and attachments through SEQTA to staff, students and parents/guardians/contacts. Direqt messaging can be enabled and configured through the Application settings page.
Direqt messages are not emails, rather they are messages that can only be accessed through SEQTA. However, Direqt messages may generate Unread notification emails if this option has been enabled in the Application settings.
Accessing and sending Direqt messages through SEQTA Teach
Using the Direqt messages page
- Select the Teaching workspace, Pastoral workspace, Home workspace or Administration workspace icon
- Select the Direqt messages page. This will display the user's Direqt messages.
- To send a message, click on New Message, enter a subject, the message text and add any attachments that need to be sent.
- Select the recipients
- If you select the option Keep recipient list private (BCC) when sending a Direqt message, it will prevent the recipients from seeing the name of other recipients.
- Click Send
Using the Correspondence page
- Go to the Administration workspace>Correspondence>Send Direqt messages
- Select the Direqt messages.
- To send a message click on New Message, enter a subject, the text of the message and add any attachments that need to be sent.
- Depending on what mode has been chosen, various merge fields will be available and conditional presets can be created.
- If the message needs to be used again at a later date, it can be saved as a template.
- Select the recipients.
- NOTE: sending via the Correspondence page is designed for communication in bulk to many recipients.
- Click Preview to confirm that the settings are correct.
- Click Process. This will display a confirmation prompt, if the details are correct then click YES to send the Direqt messages.
Using the New Direqt message icon
- Click the New message icon in the top-right corner (envelope)
- Enter a subject, message and add any attachments that need to be sent
- Select the recipients
- Click Send

- Log in to SEQTA Learn or SEQTA Engage
- Select the Direqt messages from the left-hand menu. This will display the users Direqt messages.
- To send a message click on New Message, enter a subject, message and add any attachments that need to be sent
- Select the recipients
- Click Send
Direqt message notifications
When a Direqt message is sent the recipient will receive a Notification. If the notification remains unread for a specified number of days an Unread notification email will be generated. For more information refer to the article Configuring unread notification emails
