This Article provides an overview and steps for using the SEQTA Creator 'Themes' module. A video tutorial is also available in Article SEQTA Creator tutorial videos.
The SEQTA Creator 'Themes' module provides a quick way to apply a set of formatting choices to an online lesson, programme outline or portal page.
Theme's Permissions
The following Permissions are available for Themes:
- CRTR: EDIT ALL THMS - Edit all themes that can be seen
- CRTR: THMS - Create and edit your own themes
- CRTR: SHR THMS - Share themes with others
Sharing Themes
To prevent others from using or editing a Theme, deselect the option 'Make This Theme Public'. If teachers require access to the Theme, create another with the same settings and make the theme public. This way if someone edits the shared theme, the original theme can then be used as reference to change it back.
Applying a Theme in SEQTA Creator
- Select 'Themes' from the Module pane in SEQTA Creator
- Click on the 'Theme' to apply it to the content
Creating and Editing Custom Themes
Custom themes can be created and if desired made available for other staff to use.
- Select 'Themes' from the Module pane in SEQTA Creator.
- Select an existing theme (default themes cannot be edited). Alternately, create a new theme by clicking on 'Add custom theme...' at the end of the list of themes.
- Configure the theme as required:
- Enter a 'Name' for your theme
- Select 'Make this Theme Public' to allow others to select your theme
- Under 'DOCUMENT BACKGROUND', select a colour or choose an image to be the background for your theme. Note that on smaller devices, this background won’t be seen unless you make the content translucent in the next section.
- Under 'CONTENT', set the background colour, Text colour and Accent colour (i.e. Background for the 'Title' or 'Assessment' Modules.) Select the 'Translucent Background' if you would like the document background to show through.
- Under 'TYPOGRAPHY' select the font and font size. Click 'View Samples' to see examples of available fonts.
- Click 'Save'.
