This Article outlines the most common causes of attendance roll marking. For further assistance please contact the SEQTA Service Desk, be sure to include one example class.
Padlock Icons or Cells Greyed Out
Attendance can be locked to prevent roll marking through the 'Application Settings' page. In most cases, this will be set only to lock attendance for days in the future.
If only one person is affected by the Attendance locking check the date and time set on the device - as this is used by the system to determine which days to lock. Once the date is correct refresh/reload the page and the attendance should unlock.
No Attendance Icon Showing on the Class
Insufficient Permissions
If the staff member is not assigned to a Permission group the attendance icon "@" will not display on the class. To correct this complete Step 2 in the Staff Account set-up process which is to assign the person to a Permission Group.
Staff Code Change
If a staff member 'Code' has changed (i.e. Due to name change/spelling correct etc.) in the Admin system, but not changed in SEQTA on the same day, a new Account for the person will be created. The new Account will not be in any Permission Groups and will need to be re-added.
In addition, it is essential to notify the SEQTA Service Desk requesting the two accounts be merged, this is to ensure all the Data (i.e. Attendance, Pastoral Care etc.) from the old account is moved into the new one.
Calendar Class with Attendance Disabled
The option to mark attendance is only available for Calendar classes if the 'Allow Attendance' option is selected.
Unable to Change Existing Attendance
If there is Attendance marked for the period and it cannot be changed, this indicates the Attendance was entered using an Attendance solution or via the SIP. These methods assign a higher priority to the attendance so it cannot be overwritten through the 'Attendance Roll' page.
Attendance Displays with Grey Stripy Lines
Grey stripy lines indicate the students are not enrolled in the class for those days. Please contact the School's Timetabler should there be any incorrect enrolments. Once the issue is fixed in the Timetable (and if required a Sync be run) the lines should be removed
