Creating and Managing Cutoff Templates

Modified on Tue, 3 Mar at 12:06 PM

TABLE OF CONTENTS

The steps for creating and updating cutoff templates through the Data management page are outlined below. Always test new cutoff templates to ensure they work as required, as a minor difference in the syntax might have unexpected results.

Changes to a cutoff template will not automatically apply to existing programmes or assessments, hence the word "template". These templates are designed to provide a standard set of values that can be applied to any programme. Once the changed or new cutoff template has been created, the teacher needs to go into the programme and edit the 'Marks book' settings, or 'Assessment' settings and select the cutoff template.

Creating and Managing Cutoff Templates

  1. Go to the Administration Workspace Data Management Cutoff templates.
  2. To create a new cut-off template, click 'Add Record' in the top-left corner. Alternatively, click on an existing cut-off template to edit.
  3. Enter a Label for the cut-off template.
  4. Enter the Cutoffs in the required format (see below), then click 'Save' at the bottom of the screen.

Deleting a Cutoff Template

Deleting a cut-off template will not affect any programmes or assessments which have applied the cut-off template.

  1. Go to the Administration Workspace Data Management Cutoff templates.
  2. Select the cut-off and click Delete Confirm at the bottom of the page.

Required Format (Syntax) for Cutoffs

The following are examples showing the required syntax for cutoff templates. Schools can create their own cutoffs based on their school policies and reporting requirements.

For assistance with the creation of cutoff templates please raise a case with the SEQTA Support team via the Help Portal.

Examples:

Label: Junior Cutoffs: {"75":"A","65":"B","50":"C","35":"D","0":"E"}
