Kiosk Attendance type settings

Steps for editing Attendance types and detailed information on all the Attendance type settings can be found in the article Creating and Managing Attendance Types. If this is your first look at Kiosk attendance types, or for more detail about SEQTA Kiosk configuration, please refer to the Kiosk manual.

Creating and editing Attendance types

  1. Go to the Administration workspace>Attendance administration>Type manager.
  2. To create a new Attendance type, select NEW TYPE from the top of the page.
  3. To change an existing entry, click on an existing type to modify it. Note that this will modify all past instances of this type.
    NOTE: Some changes to Attendance types are applied to all pre-existing attendance entries. If in doubt as to the suitability of a change, please contact the SEQTA Support team for assistance.
  4. Set up the Attendance type as required. 
  5. Click Saveto keep the changes.
    Note that attendance types created in SEQTA Teach do not automatically appear in the SEQTA Kiosk iPad. See the relevant sections in the SEQTA Kiosk manual.

Setting details

AVAILABLE IN KIOSK?

  • Yes = Attendance type is available to SEQTA Kiosk
  • No = it won't appear on the Kiosk iPad

CAMPUS BASED?

  • Yes = Attendance type available in SEQTA Kiosk iPads set to Campus mode
  • No = Attendance type available in SEQTA Kiosk iPads set to Class mode

REMOVES EXISTING?

When set to Yes, attendance applied will be treated as no attendance entered. Also if set to Yes the change will apply retrospectively. If it is then changed back to No it will revert back to displayed attendance.

NOTE: We do not recommend you change this setting.

  • Yes = Removes attendance from the time the student tags out to the end of the day (used for Class-based tag out attendance types)
  • No = Does not remove attendance

TAG TYPE IN?

  • Yes = Attendance type available for selection when tagging in. Ensure TAG TYPE OUT is set to No.
  • No = Attendance type not available as tag in type.

TAG TYPE OUT?

  • Yes = Attendance type available for selection when tagging out. Ensure TAG TYPE IN is set to No.
  • No = Attendance type not available as tag out type.

TAG-IN RANGE

Attendance type available for selection as a tag-in option during specified time-range. Both start and end times need to be set.

This is often used to set a time range during which students can sign in as Late, after which only Absent Attendance types appear.

TAG-OUT RANGE

Attendance type available for selection as a a tag out option during specified time-range.

AVAILABLE TO PARENTS?

This setting is not applicable to Kiosk, so it should be set to No.
