TABLE OF CONTENTS

This article is aimed at ICT staff and Systems admin staff. This information may be useful when reviewing disk space usage for the school's SEQTA instance.

User files

User files include teacher resources, archived documents and reports, student plan and pastoral care attachments, student submissions and resources. These are stored on the SEQTA VM.

User files are not included in the internal database snapshots. This is due to the large amount of space required which would then impact the size required of VM backups.

User files will be part of the VM backup. They can also be included in the External backup on require providing the school has allocated enough space on the drive.

Deleting user files

User files are only deleted off the SEQTA server it there is no link or reference to the file in SEQTA Teach.

To save space when uploading resources file can be ZIP before uploading which avoids the need for them to be transcoded (and stored in various formats). There are also other methods for saving disk space which are available in the article Saving disk space

There is no main directory available that allows the deletion of resources. Rather, resources need to be deleted through SEQTA Teach from the area they are uploaded. for example:

Please note, that if you do not remove the files from the front end yourself and require the SEQTA Service Desk to perform this action, this service will incur a fee.
