This article outlines the different methods that can be used to create and manage classes in SEQTA and things to consider when choosing the best option to manage timetabling.

Externally managed classes

Externally managed classes are created in an external timetabling system eg. MAZE, Synergetic. These are either synced directly into SEQTA or exported from the timetabling system and uploaded into Sync UI. For more information refer to the following articles:

Internally managed classes

Internally managed classes are created directly in SEQTA through the 'Administration workspace', under 'Timetable management'. This method is ideal for managing roll classes.  For more information refer to the following articles:

Untimetabled classes

Untimetabled classes are created through the 'Teaching workspace' under the 'Calendar' or 'Traditional' tab.  For more information refer to the following article: Creating and Managing Untimetabled classes

Calendar classes

Calendar classes are created through the 'Teaching workspace', under the 'Calendar' tab. For more information refer to the following articles:

Calendar classes and attendance visibility

Calendar classes can be used to mark attendance. However, attendance taken using roll classes cannot be seen in standard view in the SIP and does not appear on many of the attendance reports (for example the 'Incomplete roll' report).

For assistance with this process please raise a case with the SEQTA Support team via the Help Portal.
