RSEST Report template
Please note, it is not necessary for an RSEST Report template to be created to produce the report. However, it may simplify the data entry process for teaching staff if that option is available in the drop down menu in the purple reporting section. To create a report template:
- Go to the Administration Workspace > Curriculum setup > Report templates
- Select New report template and enter the Name as RSEST and ensure Hidden is unchecked
- Click Save.
Enter required Course codes and Externally Set Task codes
Ensure required codes have been entered into subject and student records and application settings. Detailed information and steps can be found in the table at the bottom of this article.
Marks book setup
The correct Course type needs to be set in the Marks book settings (see steps below for checking the Course type). Also, check that the Programme has been shared correctly to all the required classes in the cohort.
The Course type will typically be called, Course of study, ATAR or WACE. If in doubt, your school Curriculum administrator will be able to advise on which Course types are in use at your school.
Checking and changing the Course type for a programme
When changing course types, be sure to check the Marks book before and after the change. If the results should disappear, change back to the original course type (so the results reappear), then contact SEQTA Service Desk or in-house support for assistance.
- Go to the Teaching workspace > Timetable > My classes
- Click on the Load programme icon for the class
- Select Edit marks book settings, check the course type is correct. If not, set to the correct report type.
Entering results into the Marks book
The data for this report are drawn from the Marks Book in the column called MOD%. The values in the column need to be added by the teacher. These must be whole values or -1 or ABS (for Absent)
The steps are as follows:
- Click on the Teacher workspace
- Click on the Marks book icon (%) on the class
- Scroll to the right till you can see the purple reporting section. If the MOD% column is not visible select the 'Report type' (RSEST) and the 'Report template' (RSEST if set up, otherwise choose any)
- Enter the MOD % Note: Some staff may wish to have this result reflected in the marks book, in which case, you may create an assessment with an appropriate weighting and then copy the result to the MOD % column.
- Save the marks book.
