Birthday Alert Icon

Building a meaningful connection between teachers and students is an invaluable part of their learning journey.

The Birthday Alert is a small tool to help teachers do just that. It informs SEQTA Staff Users of an upcoming, and occurring, birthday. This acts as a prompt for well wishes or conversation, helping to build that personal connection between staff and students.

• The Grey icon shows an upcoming birthday within the next 5 days
• The Pink icon shows a birthday happening on today’s date
• If no birthday is upcoming or occurring, no icon will show against a student

The icon is shown anywhere that a Student Alert is normally shown (SIP, Marksbook, Seating Plan, etc). The close-up below is from the SIP.

Upcoming birthdays

A small grey “cake slice” icon is shown against a student whose birthday is coming up in the next 5 days. A tooltip informs the user how far away the birthday will occur.

Occurring birthdays

A small pink “cake slice” icon will show against a student who’s birthday is occurring on the current day. A tooltip informs the user of this. Once the student’s birthday has passed, the alert icon will disappear.
