Synchronising Star Classes
The SEQTA Sync needs to be configured to provide support for Star Classes. This is handled by Professional Services and incurs a once off cost for deployment. Star classes can only be deployed prior to the timetable being rolled out.
Star classes are traditionally marked with an asterisk in the timetable programme, where one or more of the regular students is instead attending a different class. The star is used to let the timetabling software know that an exemption applies to "doubling up" of students and/or rooms for a given session.
This behaviour is not configured nor activated through SEQTA Teach itself. This behaviour is triggered by configuration from an external timetabling system.
It is the sync process which deals with "star classes". Once the sync has populated the timetable and timetableStudent tables used by SEQTA Teach, our application internally doesn't "know" about star classes, they are not differentiated in any special way.
