This article is relevant for school's moving from semester based programming (ie. separate Programmes for semester one and semester two) to year long programming (ie. one Programme for the entire year).

The process for extending semester based Programmes to year long Programmes is as follows:

• Complete the start of year Programme setup process
• Add enough weeks to the Programme to cover semester two
• Import Semester Two lessons from the previous years Programme
• Recreate the Unit plan for semester two
• Create the Semester Two assessments
• Create Assessment groups (optional)
• Bridge the class when the Semester Two timetable is available

Complete the start of year Programme setup process

Complete the start of year Programme Setup Process if it has not already been done.

Add enough weeks to the Programme to cover Semester Two

If the class has not yet been bridged, add the Semester Swo lessons through the Planner sub-page, by clicking Add week enough times to cover Semester Two.

This step is not required if the class has already been bridged from Semester One to Semester Two (as this will automatically create enough lessons to cover the entirety of Semester Two). 

Import Semester Two lessons

If required, Import the Lessons for Semester Two into the current Programme. In most cases, these can be found in the previous years Semester Two Programme.

Recreate the Unit plan for Semester Two

If a Unit plan has been created in the Semester Two Programme from the previous year, it will need to be recreated in the current Programme. Opening SEQTA in two tabs (one with the Semester two Programme, and one with the current Programme) copy and paste the data over for the different sections.

Create the Semester Two assessments

Assessments cannot be copied from one Programme to another and will need to be re-created in the new Programme. For this reason, the process for extending the semester-based Programme should be completed prior to teachers entering Semester Two results.

Create Assessment groups (optional)

If required, create Assessment groups (eg. 'Semester one' & 'Semester two') and assign the assessments to the groups. This will allow teachers to separate the assessments in the Marks book and give them the option to collapse that section if they don't want to see those assessments.

Bridge the class when the Semester Two timetable is available

To create a year long Programme, teachers will need to bridge the Semester One class to the Semester Two class (no copying or sharing required). Once bridged, the Programme from Semester One will be extended to a year long Programme.

It is only when the class is bridged, that the dates will appear on the lessons. Until that point, they will display as 'Untimetabled'. Untimetabled lessons are used to allow teachers to work on Semester Two content prior to the Semester Two timetable being rolled out.
