Sharing programmes

Modified on Wed, 25 Mar at 4:29 AM

Sharing allows teachers to work collaboratively and view statistical information such as the cohort average across a number of classes. In most cases classes teaching the same subject and year level need to be sharing a programme due to reporting requirements. It also reduces duplicated effort.

Pathways can be setup in shared programmes to allow teachers to manage their course content independent of other teachers sharing the programme. Please review the KB articles on Pathways before creating them.

The Sharing process is required when:

  • Setting up programmes for new classes. The process involves copying the previous year's programme to one of the classes, then going into that programme and sharing it with the other classes in the cohort.
  • Reattaching programmes that have been accidentally unshared from its class. This restores the Marks book and makes results visible again.

The steps for sharing a programme to a class or classes are as follows:

  1. Go to the Teaching workspace>Timetable>My Classes/Traditional view/Calendar.
  2. If working on behalf of another teacher, select their name in the top-right corner.
  3. Click the Load programme icon for the class. If the class is not a current class, change the date to a point when the class was held.
  4. On the Cover page, click the Collaboration button.
  5. Under Collaborate further select the timetable period for the class (drop-down menu labelled Automatic) then type the class code in the search box.
  6. Select the class or classes you would like to share the programme with. If there is an asterisk (*) next to the class this indicates a programme is already attached. Do not attach a second programme.
    • NOTE: There are a small number of special cases where you might want two programmes. For example if a class is working towards a course mark and a VET competency at the same time.
  7. Click Share > Yes > OK
