A new programme can be created by clicking on a class with no programme attached and selecting New programme from the pop-up menu.
Creating a new programme is only required in cases where there is no existing programme to copy, bridge or share. Classes that are continuing on in the same academic year, should be Bridged rather then a new Programme being added to the Class.
- Go to the Teaching workspace>Timetable>My classes/Traditional view/Calendar
- Click on the class name and select New programme
- Click Marks book settings and ensure the correct Course type is selected and click Save
- NOTE: there are a number of other settings that may need to be changed from the defaults, but choosing an appropriate course type is a critical first step.
- If there is more than one class in the cohort, you can choose to Share the programme. Click on the Collaboration button and select the other classes from the drop-down menu at the top. Click Share then OK
- *Optional* If teachers would like the option to manage their own lessons independent of other classes, then click on the Pathways button then follow the steps in the article Creating and Managing Pathways.
- Please review the Pathways concept carefully before setting this up, to avoid future issues. There are a number of KB articles to assist you.
